Caitlin Clark Reveals True Feelings on Tough WNBA Debut With Indiana Fever

The entire sporting world has waited months to see whether Caitlin Clark has what it takes to make the jump to the WNBA. After her first game against the Connecticut Sun, the Indiana Fever rookie spoke out on how tough her first game as a pro went.

Before entering the WNBA, Clark made a name for herself during the four years she played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in college. During that stint, the guard rose to prominence by becoming a dominant scorer throughout that stretch. Ultimately, she made history by breaking Pete Maravich’s old record to lead the NCAA in all-time scoring.

However, Clark’s final year in college didn’t end perfectly as she and the Hawkeyes lost to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the championship round. Nevertheless, the Iowa star went first  in the WNBA Draft after the Indiana Fever selected her with the top pick. She joined a notable class of rookies that are projected to lift the WNBA to new levels of popularity, including Los Angeles Sparks’ Cameron Brink and Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese.

With her stellar college run pushing her to stardom, fans and critics alike are looking forward to see how she will do in the WNBA. And after several preseason games, it looked like Clark is ready to go, or so she thought.

Caitlin Clark Speaks Out On Her WNBA Debut With Indiana Fever Against Connecticut Sun

Just recently, Clark spoke to reporters after Indiana’s 92-71 loss to the Connecticut Sun. In a video shared by Talia Goodman on X:

Clark shot only 5-of-15 from the field on her way to a 20-point performance. Her 10 turnovers also marked the most ever made in a WNBA debut by a rookie, a feat that added stain to the Fever star’s first game as a pro.

Clark and the Fever are slated to face the New York Liberty soon. Hopefully, the rookie can put on a better performance and help Indiana get a win.
