Hades 2 carries over the Boons system from Hades 1, allowing players to gather blessings to empower their runs. In this guide, we will talk about everything you need to know about the Boons in Hades 2, including their effects, how to get them, and more.

Hades 2 Boons Guide

First of all, what are Boons? Players can think of Boons as blessings or upgrades that they can get during their runs in Hades 2. Boons can either augment the player’s attacks (Attack, Cast, or Special) or provide passive effects like shields. Boons are important as they dictate how easy or how hard your runs will be.

How To Get Boons in Hades 2?

There are a total of 4 ways for players to get Boons in Hades 2. The first, and perhaps most common, is as an Encounter reward. Whenever a player chooses which Encounter to go to next, there is a chance for one of them to be a Boon, dictated by the icon of one of the game’s deities.

Players must then finish said Encounter, after which they will be presented with three random Boons from the deity they chose. They can then select one of the Boons, and complete the selection process.

The second way is via Charon’s shop. Charon’s shop has a chance to sell for 150 Gold. Players can walk up to the deity’s icon to buy said Boon. Alternatively, Charon can also sell a bag for 125 Gold that contains a random deity, which in turn randomizes what kind of Boon the player will get.

The third is unique to Chaos and requires players to enter a Chaos Gate by sacrificing some of their HP. After entering the Chaos Gate, players will be presented with three Boons that offer strong effects but will require players to suffer a debuff for a set amount of Encounters. Chaos Boons will be

The last method is unique to Artemis. Unlike the other deities, where the Boons are rewarded for finishing Encounters, Artemis will instead randomly assist the player during their encounters. After the player finishes said Encounter, they will get that Encounter’s reward, as well as a Boon from Artemis.
